General information
When and where will Financing for Feminist Futures take place?
Financing for Feminist Futures is rescheduled for for October 8-10, 2025, instead of May. This new date aligns it with key global events like the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) happening in June and the Feminist Foreign Policy Conference happening in France in October 2025. This timing will enable us to build strategies informed by FfD4’s outcomes, ensuring a stronger impact. The conference will be taking place at La Casa Encendida in Madrid.

Who can attend the conference?
Although the conference is now at capacity, registration was open to anyone interested in making gender equality a reality by ensuring that feminist movements get sustainable funding. We particularly encouraged the participation from women of color, Indigenous women, young people, people with disabilities, LGBTIQ+ communities, and in general feminists and rights holders from the Majority World.
Rescheduling the conference
Why has the conference been rescheduled?
The decision to reschedule the conference was not taken lightly. Recent global shifts—such as the scaling back of USAID funding, consistent cuts to aid spending in Europe, and tightening restrictions on civil society, have had a considerable impact on the feminist ecosystem. With over 40% of Official Development Assistance (ODA) disappearing in just four months and an increasingly challenging policy and political landscape, the context for our conference has completely changed. After careful consideration, the Walking the Talk consortium has decided to reschedule the conference, allowing us to reframe the content and program to better address the current realities of communities and feminist organizations.
I have been invited to join the conference before it was rescheduled. What should I do now?
Thank you for your patience! We have contacted all conference participants with next steps. If you have not heard from us, please reach out by email via info-f4ff@hivos.org.
